Featured Musician: Homero Cerón
Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Homero Cerón is a Yamaha Artist and has played professionally since the age of 12. Educated at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, he received his Masters degree at the University of Arizona.
Homero is the recipient of both an IMDB You are my Sunshine Award and an Arizona Arts Award. In addition to being the leader of Cool Breeze, an ensemble group specializing in Latin American music, he owns a percussion studio, teaches percussion at Pima Community College, is a lecturer at the UA School of Music and in addition to the Tucson Pops Orchestra, he regularly performs with True Concord Voices & Orchestra, Tucson Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, Arizona Symphonic Winds, and the Pima College Wind Ensemble. Over his career, Homero has also performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Arizona Opera, Arizona Dance Theater, Ballet Arizona, Tucson Pops Orchestra, and Arizona Symphonic Winds as well as with many touring shows and artists.
