Armen Dirtadian is thrilled to be singing once again with László Veres and The Tucson Pops Orchestra. Mr. Dirtadian is a very well known performer in Tucson, celebrating more than forty years singing and acting on various Tucson stages, including The Gaslight Theatre, Southern Arizona Light Opera Company, Arizona Theater Company, and The Invisible Theatre. He has played numerous leading roles; Tevye, Fiddler on the Roof being his favorite which he played seven times in his career: four times in Tucson as well as Phoenix, Arizona, Nashville, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas. Other roles include The Pirate King (Pirates of Penzance), Julian Marsh (42nd Street), Ben Rumson (Paint Your Wagon), Sam Galahad (Gun Metal Blues), Captain Hook (Peter Pan), and Charlie Anderson (Shenandoah). Mr. Dirtadian has also toured China, singing “The Best of Sinatra,” with The University of Arizona Jazz Ensemble. Armen is well known for his portrayal of SIMON PETER, in The Simon Peter Passion Play of Tucson which he played for eighteen years and was musically directed by Maestro László Veres.

​Mr. Dirtadian studies classical voice from Korby Myrick and has performed as The Bass Soloist in The Messiah Sing In of Tucson. Armen was an educator in The Tucson Unified School District from 1976-2003 . He is also a noted amateur golfer having won ten Pima County Amateur Championships, five Tucson City Amateurs, Arizona’s State Amateur as well as qualifying for nine United States Golf Association Championships. Mr Dirtadian has been inducted into The Pima County Sports Hall of Fame and is a member of The University of Arizona Golf Wall of Fame.
